INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF GLASS, SOFIA

1st Edition

International Festival of Glass, Sofia 2010 is born in a moment when the glass as part of the contemporary art scene, as material and technique in Bulgaria has nearly vanished. When the glass exists almost solely in the form of utilitarian objects, as mass production, neglected, it is time something to be done. Something that would awaken the forgotten ovens, would shed light on the experienced masters, would put in one space some of the most interesting contemporary artists. And exactly this is the important task IFGS assumes.

Its program consists of exhibitions, lectures and demonstrations, implemented in cooperation with the Bulgarian and the foreign artists.
